We are getting ready for the Annual Synergy Open House which will be on Saturday, July 19th 2008 from 10am ’til 3PM. As you can imagine there is a lot of organization that goes into making sure that this event runs without a hitch. This year we have about 30 different vendors and practitoners explaining and demonstrating their specialty, some of which you may have heard about and some that will be new to you. There wil also be live music in the morning with the Blue Stone Run and free seated massages and 1/2 hour table massages. Michelle and Holly will be in the office all day to answer questions and Margie will be everywhere talking to all the visitors and graduates. Craig will be wearing multiple hats, you will find him anywhere between the library and the parking lot.
It is a fun day for all and at 2pm the third annual Keith A. Schaeffer Memorial Scholarship will be awarded by Senator Terry Punt. One lucky student or graduate will be the recipient of a large check and there are several runners up who will also be presented with a check or other award.
Graduates, Students, faculty and all who work at a the Synergy Healing Arts Center and Massage School, plan to stay afterwards and enjoy the Synergy Summer party after Open House, it’s our one opportunity during the year to meet up with old friends, make new friends and generally network, and get up-to-date with what everyone is doing.

In order to enable more people to afford a regular massage Synergy is beginning certified professional massage sessions barely above student clinic fees! The popularity of massage for preventive health is making this possible. Research shows that up to 90% of all disease is directly related to STRESS! Research also shows that individuals who get regular massage are the HEALTHIEST in America! Our objective is to offer affordable 55 minute massage sessions to those who have not been able to afford massage before, those who can no longer afford the rising fees for massage services, and to those who can no longer afford massage due to rising energy costs and the recession cutting into the family budget. We also want Synergy Student Clinic clients to be able to get a massage when the student clinic is closed during the summer break and the Christmas Holidays. We are creating jobs for Synergy graduates and at the same time meeting our accreditation required job placement requirements. The Professional Clinic is designed after the new massage franchise business plans that have come into being since the year 2000 and the Professional Massage Clinic plan presented at the 2006 ABMP National School Meeting. However, more time will be allowed between client for the massage therapist self-care needs than previously recommended. Margie is readily accessible to assist with treatment plan recommendations since therapists will be working on location at the massage school….therefore allowing medical massage skills to develop if this is the desire of the massage therapist. This plan can work for massage therapists desiring spa relaxation massage work or for those desiring medical massage work because we expect to welcome clients desiring both types of massage in this program.
